Description
A thoughtfully redesigned 1970s home sitting above Warburton, Welcome on Wellington was transformed by Melbourne boutique interior design studio Two Design — and it shows. Custom-built furniture, a considered floor plan, and a few finishing touches that most holiday rentals don’t have: an outdoor bath with privacy screens and mountain views, a firepit, a coal-fire BBQ, and direct access to the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail just 700 metres from the door.
Best for: Couples · Small families · Cyclists · Remote workers · Dog owners
The house
Three bedrooms — a master with queen bed and two rooms with king singles that can be pushed together or kept separate. Crisp linen, quality pillows and fresh towels throughout. The open-plan living area leads to a balcony with mountain views — good for morning coffee or evening wine. Smart TV with Chromecast, central heating and air conditioning in all rooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances and a handmade dining table. Eat inside or head out to the outdoor dining area in the fresh mountain air — fresh mint growing in the garden for whatever you’re cooking.
A private study with wall-length desk, sit/stand option, smart TV doubling as a monitor, lockable door and reliable WiFi makes this one of the better work-from-Warburton setups going. Multiple people can run Zoom calls simultaneously without getting in each other’s way.
Designer bathroom with rainfall showerhead, shower wand, and quality toiletries. Separate powder room.
The outdoor spaces
The outdoor bath with privacy screens and mountain views is the standout feature — soak in hot water while the sun goes down over the ranges. Firepit with firewood, coal-fire BBQ, and a large fully fenced garden ideal for kids and dogs.
For cyclists and trail runners
The hosts are mountain bikers and trail runners who have designed the property accordingly. Secure under-house bike storage, a bike wash stand in the back garden, and a mud room entry at the back of the house so you can leave wet gear before heading inside. The O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail is 700 metres away — one of the best ridge walks and rides in the Yarra Ranges, with panoramic views over the valley and town.
Pet-friendly
Dogs are welcome. The fully fenced garden gives them room to run, and the Yarra River walking tracks are minutes away.
A note on accessibility
There are two sets of stairs — from the driveway to the house, and a second set to the front door. Please get in touch before booking if you’d like to discuss whether this works for your group.
Getting here
Warburton is approximately 90 minutes east of Melbourne CBD via the Maroondah Highway. Parking for three cars.
We’re mountain bikers and trail runners who love good food, good wine and good coffee — and we’ve tried to make sure this house reflects that. We’re always available for recommendations and to make sure your stay is everything you hoped for. We look forward to welcoming you.
